Hawaii Flooding During Its Rainiest Season

Hawaii is no stranger to the yearly storms that occur during its rainy season. However, this year its residents were met with the biggest storm they have seen in a while. The first storm that struck the islands of Hawaii happened on March 10, 2026, bringing massive amounts of flooding that are still happening to this day. This is the most flooding that residents have seen in almost two decades; in some areas of Hawaii, they have received over 30 inches of rain.
In the towns, neighborhoods were destroyed, and roads were completely submerged. On social media, residents were seen kayaking and boating through towns and yards to get around. If residents being impacted weren’t enough, these floods came during many other states' spring break, leaving tourists trapped in their resorts with nowhere to go and no way to evacuate or return home.
With the rain still falling and the islands stuck underwater, everyone is watching to see when these continuous floods are going to quit.
