A Surge of Hate

Neo-Nazi’s March in Ohio

A group of neo-Nazis were seen marching through Columbus, Ohio, waving swastika flags and shouting racial slurs on Saturday, Nov. 16. The hate group consisted of about a dozen people dressed in black with red face coverings, with their leader shouting into a bullhorn. They moved down a street in downtown Columbus, until Columbus police received 911 calls to report the hate group.

Police arrived at the scene, but no arrests were made, no charges were pressed and the identities of those who participated in the march have not been released.

Multiple videos were posted online, where racial slurs shouted by group members can be heard. Elected officials, civil rights groups and Jewish advocacy leaders have condemned the group, declaring their actions of hate unacceptable across the United States.

“There is no place in this state for hate, bigotry, antisemitism or violence, and we must denounce it wherever we see it,” Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine said.
