Sean Jean Combs Sentenced for Four Years

On Sept. 16, 2024, Sean Jean Combs, known as “Diddy,” was taken into custody at New York’s Park Hyatt Hotel. The well-known former rapper was accused of running illegal trafficking operations.
Combs’ high-profile federal trial began in May of 2025 and ended in July, lasting for eight weeks. 55-year old Combs pleaded not guilty against five charges but was ultimately found guilty of two counts of transportation for prostitution. The jury found Combs guilty of transporting victims Cassie Ventura and “Jane” across state lines to participate in prostitution, which is prohibited under the Mann Act of 1910.
Combs was eventually sentenced to 50 months in prison. He has already served one of these four years in the Metropolitan Detention Center, where he has been kept since his arrest in September. Where he will complete his sentencing is still being decided.
"I am so scared that if he walks free, his first actions will be swift retribution towards me and others who spoke up," Ventura said.
