Las Vegas Aces are the 2025 WNBA Champions

The Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) is the United States’ women’s basketball league. It was created in 1997 and has expanded to include 13 teams across the United States. On Oct. 10, the Las Vegas Aces defeated the Phoenix Mercury 97 - 86 in the WNBA finals and were crowned the 2025 WNBA Champions. This is the third time that the Aces have won the WNBA Championship in the last four seasons.
Star player A’ja Wilson, a 29-year-old center, was named the Finals MVP for the second time of her career. In the final game against the Phoenix Mercury, she led the team to victory with 31 points scored, nine rebounds, four assists, three blocks and two steals.
"I think the evolving of the game ... these players are bigger, stronger, faster and more skilled," Las Vegas Aces Head Coach Becky Hammon said. "[Past] dynasties laid the groundwork and showed how winning should be done and really gave a lot to the WNBA in so far as history.”
The WNBA season starts again in May 2026, and the Aces plan to be back to back champions.
